This was taken with my Holga camera.  I love that camera:).  I’ve just bought two more cheap old film cameras.  Ebay is a great thing:).

                                             The blast of heat took a toll on the garden.  Cooler weather is promised tomorrow and for the weekend.  I’ve left the lawn long through the mini heat wave and now it looks like a long haired hippie.  It will get a hair cut tonight and I’ll get out there this weekend and deadhead.  July and August are the sleepy months in the garden.  I get rather lazy and spent more time lying on the grass than doing any thing resembling chores.  Perfect.

                                                                                                  It’s going to be another hot one today.  I’m thinking we’ll have a lazy day.  Maybe go to the beach, have salad for dinner, and head on down to see the fireworks.

Summer has finally arrived with a vengence.  After months of record breaking cold…wham!… a mini heat wave.  Temps have been 30c plus this past weekend.  Beautiful for hanging out at the beach but my peonies couldn’t handle it and they are finished early this year.  Bummer.

                                                                                               My water feature is not is service.  I think there might be a hole in the plastic basin under the rocks.  Limited time means I haven’t had the chance to take it apart and figure it out.  I really miss the sound of running water.  Let see….add to the chore list…ahh..number 14.

                                                                A few chores can be checked off the list after this past weekend.  Next on my list…prune the boxwood hedge….again.  Why a person who does garden maintanance for a living, plants a boxwood hedge…..

                                                                                                                      This path was at our house when we moved in.  We have had plans since then to rip it up and put down an exposed aggregate path.  It’s still on the list I’m afraid.  Hopefully not for much longer.  If you really like to weed, than this is the path for you.  I don’t.  I would seriously consider not going this route if you have been thinking of it. 

                                                            The weather is so cold this Spring that my herbs and poor tomatoes haven’t grown much.  Hopefully warm weather will arrive….soon.

                                               I love this plant and it was gracious enough to bloom for me this year.  I know it is suppost to be easy to grow but it hasn’t been for me.  I spend some quality time admiring it the other night.

The judges came out today to look at my work garden.  The weather was kind.  No wind and the sun made an appearance.  Rare lately.  I was happy with the way everything looked and hopefully so were they.

I also spend some time deadheading the dreaded huge rhodo in my backyard.  It’s getting so large that I can only manage the bottom half.  I managed to get two others done but have alot more to do.  It would be nice to have them all done by the end of the week.  I’m thinking….wishful thinking.

                                                                Both these plants seem to be very happy.  Next year I’m going to have to divide them.  My garden looks like it’s on steroids right now.          

                                         Another weekend has flown by.  Nice weather and a good Fathers Day.  I got nothing done in the garden and my chore list is growing long.  This week with fingers crossed I will have some time to spare.  The huge pink rhodo and a few others need to be deadheaded and the weeds are taking over.  The mulch still sits in the trailer.   Wahh…

                                                                   I really must get out there and empty the trailer of it’s half yard of fish compost.  I’m feeling a little lazy I’m afraid.  I’ve gone ahead and entered my work garden ( I’m a grounds keeper at a local resort) in a garden contest and have been getting it ready for the judging.  They will come by any time between June 16-27th. 

With that said…I’ve been gardening alot lately.
